He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack J. Grooms and Florence "Louise" Grooms (Hatcher); his brother Keith Grooms; and his close friend Mark Finnan. He is survived by: his wife Kristine Grooms (Tarrant); his children, Stephanie Lindenschmidt (Chuck) and Stephen Grooms (Amanda); his grandchildren, Kylie Henneberry (Mitch), Autumn Grooms (Jonah), Ashlie Lindquist (Adam) and Gatlin Grooms; his great grandchildren, Vivienne, Elias and Emerson; his siblings, Rose Tripp and Phil Grooms (Linda); his sisters-in-law, Cheryl Huggins, Marg Gromer and Judy Reck; and the mother of his children Penny Grooms.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Honquest Family Funeral Home-Loves Park Chapel (4311 N Mulford Rd, Loves Park, IL 61111).
In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family to be used in his memory at Mote Aquarium in Sarasota, FL.
