We bid farewell to Gordon Allen Smith (Rockford, Illinois), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 16, 2024 at the age of 93. Gordon Allen touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Though Gordon Allen may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Gordon Allen touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Smith and Helen Smith (Goranson); his wife Margaret E. Smith (Grady); and his grandson Michael. He is survived by: his children, Janet Becker (David) and David Smith (Dee); his granddaughters, Hannah Greathouse (Caleb) and Christy Smith; his granddaughter-in-law Lou LaMartina; and his great grandchild Ethan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gordon's name to the Swedish American Health Foundation.
