He was predeceased by: his son Rickey of Gary; and his siblings, Joanne of Judy and Danny. He is survived by: his wife Joann Wilkins; his daughter Teresa Wilkins (Terri); his grandchildren, Merissa (Frankie), Ian, Jason, Arreanna and Drake; and his siblings, Ronnie Wilkins and Shirley Vickery. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family.
