He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewitt Lewers and Gladys Lewers; his son Eugene Lewers Jr.; and his siblings, Marie Mathews, Mary Green, Virginia Lewers and Cicero Lewers.
He is survived by: his siblings, Tommy Lee Street (Mary), Robert Lewis (Imo Jean), Elijah Lewis, Melvin Lewis (Cathy), Minnie Giddeon, Lillie Posley, Susie Lewis and Maxine Cobb (Tony); his son Tyrone Naylor; and his nieces, Samantha Porter and Christine Russey. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. (200 N Johnston Ave, Rockford, IL 61101). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
