We are sad to announce that on January 12, 2025, at the age of 92, Donald Eugene Wernberg of Rockford, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl E. Wernberg and Lillie M. Wernberg (Lundquist); his wife June L. Paulsen; his brother Leonard Wernberg; his in-laws, Axel and Margit Paulsen; and his siblings-in-law, Ronald and Gloria Paulsen.
He is survived by: his daughters, Diane McReynolds (Wayne) of Phoenix, AZ and Sonja Davis (Troy) of Rockford, IL; his granddaughters, Kendra, Shayla and Caitlyn; his great grandchild Maliyah; his brother-in-law Bjorn Paulsen; his nephew David Paulsen; his nieces, Tonnya Bivins (Jim) and Lisa Rodgers; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Erik Rodgers, Nikolai Bivins, Sara VanderHeyden (Jamin) and Natasha Bivins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM at the Fred C. Olson Chapel (1001 2nd Ave, Rockford, IL 61104). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
