We bid farewell to Bernice A. Terranova of Rockford, Illinois, born in Streator, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 28, 2024 at the age of 96. Bernice touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, A. J. Novotney and Anna Novotney (Senko); her husband John Terranova, Sr.; her grandsons, Matthew and Luke Terranova; her son-in-law Victor A. Mandala, Sr.; and her siblings, Marge Verona (Louis), Irene Gutek-Miklos, Robert (Ellen), Albert Novotney and Ralph Rube' Novotney (Helen).
She is survived by: her children, JoAnn Mandala of San Antonio, FL, Karen Gugliuzza (Louis, Sr.) of Rockford, John Terranova, Jr. (Miechelle) of Rockford, Louis Terranova of Rockford and Marguerite Paravola (Thomas) of Elmhurst; her grandchildren, Andrea Meads (Scott), Teresa Mandala, Victor Mandala, Jr. (Michelle), A. J. Mandala (Jenni), Kelli Rolston (John), Louie, Jr. Gugliuzza (Dana), Karissa McGraw (Terrence), Niki Terranova (David Putrus), Kris Kopel (Katie), Sara Terranova, Candice Holder (James), Lindsey Terranova (Lynette Pestel), Zachary Terranova (Kelly), Ryan Terranova (Kelsey Brown), Jacob Terranova (Kristin), Kevin Terranova (Mary Herra), Hannah Terranova (Jacob Allen) and Julianna Terranova (Jacob Sheley); her great grandchildren, Jessica, Desiree, Angelina, April, Jonah, Juliana, Gabriel, Valentina, Drew, Addie, Sam, Grace, Ben, Gianna, Francesca, Carmella, Connor, Katelyn, Wilder, Bodhi, Nico, Luca, Ashlynn, Kalli-Jade, Teddy, Jack, Owen, James, Caleb and Reid; and her great great grandchildren, Cora, Roman, Rhett, Lacey and Adelia. She is also survived by several nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, November 4th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary will be held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 at 4:45 PM at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel (1860 S Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61108). A Mass will be held on Monday, November 4th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (1010 Ferguson St, Rockford, IL 61102).
