She was predeceased by: her husband Richard Murphy; her parents, Michael Girard and Agnes Girard (Schmidt); and her siblings, Patricia Stahl, Betty Vance, Michaeline Straetz and James Girard.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel (Charlotte), JoAnne Wood (Thomas), Steven (Jeannine) and Thomas (Connie); and her grandchildren, Maria Casillas (Julio), Dan (Gretchen), Angela Malavolti, Diana Dawson (Joseph), Christopher, Tom Wood (Amber Koehler), Julie Smith (Curtis), Paul (Christina), Adam (Cassie), Jacob (Alyssa), Andrew (Selena), Michael and Mark. She is also survived by 31 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A rosary will be held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory - Riverside (3910 N Rockton Ave, Rockford, IL 61103). A Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Bernadette Catholic Church (2400 Bell Ave, Rockford, IL 61103). A burial will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery - Winnebago/Rockford (8616 W State Rd, Winnebago, IL 61088).
