He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Ann Box and Lonnie Fort Sr. Alifornzia; his wife Alice Marie Cook; his son Anthony Fort; his grandsons, Kristopher Huggins and Joslyn Thompson; and his siblings, Lonnie Fort Jr., Fred Fort, John Fort, Herbert Fort, Ella Mae Marshall, Suler, Cunningham, Evester Buford and Jean Ester Brown (Martha Velley-Hughes).
He is survived by: his children, Eric Fort (Shawna), Michelle Fort and Dianne Thompson (Brian). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church (301 Klines Ave, Rockford, IL 61102). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
