She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Wyatt Barnum and Nola Mae Lincoln; her husband Murley L. Branigan; her daughter Mona Lisa Thompson; and her grandchildren, Russell Cowan Jr., Zachery Thompson and Sharon Thompson.
She is survived by: her children, Russell Cowan, Maurice Barnum, Cynthia Cowan, Anthony Cowan, Keyontay Young and Rev. Al Barnum (LaFayia Kay). She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Knox Chapel of Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory (2106 7th Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at the Chippiannock Cemetery (2901 12th St, Rock Island, IL 61201).
