He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Hays and Rose Hays (Talik); his wife Mary Ann Dunn; and his sister Judy Holuba. He is survived by: his children, Terence (Kathleen) and Lynn (Kevin); his grandchildren, Phoenix Beard, Courtney Hays and Eleanor Shanahan; and his sister Nancy Lingafelter (Lyle).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory (201 4th Ave E, Milan, IL 61264). The military honors was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery (4205 30th St, Rock Island, IL 61201).
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice in Neil's memory.
