He was predeceased by: his parents, Mahlon Butz and Marilyn Butz (Campbell); and his brother Martin Butz. He is survived by: his son Louis Butz (Kailey Johnson); his grandsons, Noah and Liam Butz; and his siblings, Michael Butz (Suzanne), Melinda Fortner (Keith) and Michele Butz-Tyson.
A rosary was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. (3030 7th Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201). Visitation was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St Pius X Catholic Church (2502 29th Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201).
