He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Reed and Elizabeth Reed (Crosby); and his brother George Reed. He is survived by: his wife Janice Reed; his children, Lisa Tanner (Eric) and James A. Reed Jr.; his grandson Nicholas Tanner; and his siblings, Roy Reed (Helen), Roger Reed (Brenda), Robert "Whitey" Reed (Shirley), David Reed (Debbie), Margaret Massengarb, Bonnie Corbin (Verlen) and Linda Wood (Jack). He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
