He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy Heffelfinger and Juanita Heffelfinger (Strausser); his sisters, Patricia Ann and Karen; and his stepchildren, Henry Mack Johnson III of Dixon and Brenda Avery of New Bern, NC..
He is survived by: his former wife June Holmquist; his stepchildren, Cindy Peck (Bryan) of Oregon, IL, Kelly Schaefer (Marty) of Rock Falls and Darin Heffelfinger (Dawn M.) of Sterling, IL.; his wife Martha; his brother Gerald of Mt. Morris; and his stepchildren, Gary Johnson of Grantsboro, NC, Vicky Ward of Grantsboro, NC, Donna Vasquez (John) of Sterling and Dahn Heffelbower of Austin, TX. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandsons, and several nieces and nephews and step-grandchildren.
Masks and social distancing requirements will be in effect for a visitation to allow 10 persons at a time to rotate through a public viewing on Saturday November 21, 2020 from 10 – 11 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Happy Tails of Rock Falls or The Beacon of Hope Hospice in Davenport, Iowa.
