She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Abell and Mary Abell; her nephew Nicholas Garza; and her pets, Vivian, Buster and Jack Canas.
She is survived by: her husband Oscar Canas; her children, Kerrey Duarte (Arianna), Kristin Casillas, Alex Casillas and Alysia Garcia (David); her grandchildren, Nicholas, Sadie, Evaeh, Chloe and Corbin; her brothers, Paul Abell, Peter Abell and Jeff Abell (Stacey); and her pets, Lily, Kai, Watson and Winter Duarte. She is also survived by her friends, and camping with her husband and family.
