He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob C. Knapp and Geneva Knapp (Snow); and his son Robert Daniel Knapp. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Knapp of Rock Falls; his sons, Mike Knapp (Liz) of Sterling, Dennis Knapp (Sandra) of Rock Falls and Tim Knapp (Kathy) of Sterling; and his daughter-in-law Jody Knapp of Sterling. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials have been established to Harvest Time Bible Church.
