He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Nie and Dorothy Nie (Kimm). He is survived by: his children, Shawn Seelye (Steve) of St. Louis, Leah Imhoff (Gerry) of St. Louis, Bob Nie (Laura) of Caldonia and Bruce Nie of St. Louis; his grandchildren, Katherine Holter (Ben), Matthew Imhoff, Sydnie Seelye, Samantha Horn (Kyle), Andrew Imhoff, Elizabeth Nie and Seth Seelye; his wife Jane Hoenicke of Sterling; his siblings, Margaret Wegerle of Port Orchard, Wash., Elizabeth Baronowski of Port Orchard, Wash., John Nie (Peggy) of Mesquite, Nev and Arthur Nie (Eulalie) of North Hollywood, Calif.; and his great grandchild Landon Holter.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Happy Tails and Serenity Hospice.
