He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Amil Henry and Louise Theresa Deetz Sr (Bannick) of Deer Grove, Illinois.; his daughter Sharon Kay; his brother Ernest Jr; his nephew John Deetz; and his niece Ruth Bricker.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Jane Emmitt; his friend Dean Etheridge; his daughters, Julie Deetz (Beth) of Rock Falls and Sue Licocci (Tom) of Rock Falls; his grandchildren, Chad Bruns (Elizabeth) of Oregon, IL, Scott Bruns (Nicole) of Sterling, Heather Bruns of Prophetstown and Brodie Bruns (Kenzie); his great grandchildren, Tessa, Harper, Pyper, Jude, Rosalean and Adaline; his aunt Erma Anderson of Phoenix, AZ; and his pet Maggie May. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rock River Hospice and Home and the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
