He was predeceased by: his parents, Chris Hammelman and Clara Hammelman (Lauts). He is survived by: his son Edward Hammelman (Lynn) of Rock Falls; and his close friends, Linda Hurd of Rock Falls, Doran Dockstader of Rock Falls and Linda Dykstra (Jim) of Morrison. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial has been established.
