It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lois J. Deetz (Rock Falls, Illinois), born in Sterling, Illinois, who passed away on November 1, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Emmitt and Alverdie Emmitt (Anderson) of Rock Falls; her husband Marvin of Deer Grove; her daughter Sharon; her siblings, William A. Emmitt and Mary Morphew; her niece Ruthie Bricker (Deetz); and her nephew John Deetz.
She is survived by: her daughters, Julie Deetz (Beth Cole) of Rock Falls and Sue Licocci (Tom) of Rock Falls; her grandchildren, Chad Bruns (Elizabeth) of Oregon, Scott Bruns (Nicole) of Franklin Grove, Heather Bruns of Prophetstown and Brodie Bruns (Kenzie) of Prophetstown; and her caregiver Lois.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church (501 8th Ave, Rock Falls, IL 61071). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Falls and Hospice of the Rock River Valley.
