He is survived by: his children, Peggy Sturgeon of Rock Falls, Norma Newman of Sterling and Jimmy Newman, Jr. of Rock Falls; his grandchildren, James Sturgeon and Anna Sturgeon; his brother-in-law Henry Planthaber of Monona, WI; and his nieces, Robin Berg (Dan) of Monona and Julie Jacobs (Denny) of Austin, TX..
A memorial has been established to the Alzheimer's Association.
