He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Peter Leroy Dempsey and Alice G. Dempsey (Egan); his children, Lori Dempsey of Champaign, IL and Scott Dempsey (Terra) of Dixon; his sister Nancy Hague; and his children, Gerald F. Dempsey and Kathy Ann Dempsey. He was also cherished by twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
