He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean Arnold and Mildred Pyse (Wagenknecht); his wife Mary; his son Ricky Pyse; and his siblings, Joyce Ernst (Allen), Charlotte Joanne Anderson, Judith Ann Estes (Tom), Peggy Jo Karash (Larry), Cheryl Sue Chappell (Steve) and Dennis Ray (Donna).
He is survived by: his close friend Dorothy "Dottie" Simmons; his daughter Tedi Jo Ridle of Rock Falls; his siblings, Joan Pyse of Bradford, IL, Jeanie Mattingly (Carl) of Loretto, KY, David Pyse (Laura) of Kings Mountain, NC, Debbie Aronson (Randy) of Harmon, IL and Wendy Stralow (Craig) of Morrison, IL; his grandchildren, Matthew McPheeters, Jeryd Ridle and Justin Ridle; his great grandchildren, Dawson McPheeters, Maddux McPheeters, Jaxxyn Ridle and Laynee Ridle; his stepdaughters, Lisa Hogenson (Jim) and Teri Scott; and his stepgrandchildren, Michelle Elmendorf, Milo Bryant, Catrina Hopkins, Christopher Scott and Coty Scott. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
