He was predeceased by: his parents, Olaf L. Beard and Lorene Beard (Lovell); his wife Bonnie Pusch; and his sister Nancy Lee. He is survived by: his children, Scott Beard (Mary), Susan Gideon (Dennis) and Cathy Fiaoni (Mike); and his grandchildren, Audra Millburg (Jarrod), Zachary Beard (Anne), Lynn Beard, William Beard (Rachel), Joshua Gideon (Jennifer), Jacob Gideon (Dannie), Gracie Redford (Jackson) and Rebecca McNeal (Stanford). He is also survived by 19 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Camp Butler National Cemetery (5063 Camp Butler Rd, Springfield, IL 62707).
