He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Glen and Clara Ione Howie Bremer (Shemonic); and his stepfather Clinton Bremer. He is survived by: his wife Connie Whalen Handegan of Rochester; his children, Erin Yamaoka (Nimesh Gadoya) of Chicago, Kristi Yamaoka of Sheldon, Damon Handegan (Aleta) of Beckemeyer, Taylor Handegan of Taylorville and Lindsey Handegan of Taylorville; his grandchildren, Adelynn Yamaoka, Amari Gadoya, Huxley Handegan and Raylin Handegan; his sister Ronda Hernandez (Larry) of Altadena, CA; and his uncle Roger Shemonic of Steeleville. He is also survived by several cousins; and various extended Bremer family members.
