With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Mary E. Lewis of Rochester, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert A. Sr. Lewis and Virgie M. Lewis (Hale); and her siblings, Regina Dale Bauereiss and Tony Lewis. She is survived by: her sons, Ron Matrisch, Jr. (Kim) of Springfield and Herbert Schmidt, Jr. (Ashlee Wells) of Springfield; her grandchildren, Jerome Schmidt, Hannah Matrisch and Nate Matrisch (Alexa Heavner); her great grandchild Graham Matrisch; and her siblings, Ann Budd of Springfield, Alice Kuizinas of Springfield, Rita Lewis of Springfield and Joe Lewis (Judy) of Petersburg, IL. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the Butler Funeral Home – Springfield (900 S 6th St, Springfield, IL 62703). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
