He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph J. McDevitt and Charlotte B. Mayberry McDevitt; and his wife Esther C. Bishop. He is survived by: his sons, Bill Farris and Larry McDevitt Jr. (Stephenie). He is also survived by four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
