It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katherine Elizabeth Smith (Rochester, Illinois), born in Van Nuys, California, who passed away on August 10, 2019, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Raymond A. Leavy and Marie Sheehan Leavy; her husband Grover R. Smith; and her children, Benjamin, Mary Camille of Columbia, MO, George (Anne) of Taylorville and James (Sue) of Rochester. She was also cherished by five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail or the Telephone Pioneers Shoe Program.
