He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Paul and Vera Evans Nevitt; his brother James R. Nevitt (Patricia) of Decatur; his pet Alyssa Rose; and his parents-in-law, Ellen, Clarence Parks, Viola and Francis Kulavic.
He is survived by: his pet Isabella Maye; his children, Major Jamie Lynne Bowden (Major Brandon) of Palmer, Master Sergeant Christopher Ledbetter (Amy) of Washington, DC and Diana Marie Baranzelli (John) of Rochester; his grandchildren, Evalia, Sophia, Olivia Ledbetter of Springfield, Blake Lynne, Barrett Bowden of Palmer, AK, Jalen McAfee of Chicago, Carter Sternitzke of Rochester, Nick Baranzelli of Springfield and Madison Elekonich of North Carolina; his nephews, Patrick (Lisa), Sean and Eric Nevitt (Marian); his niece Heather Kohl (Eric); his great-nieces, Emily and Rachel Nevitt; his great-nephew Levi Kohl of Kentucky; and also Diana Lynne Ledbetter (Kulavic).
Visitation was held on Friday, October 25th 2024 at 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, October 25th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Third Presbyterian Church (1030 N 7th St, Springfield, IL 62702).
