He was predeceased by: his parents, LaVerne "Bub" and Donna Krahenbuhl (Moluf); and his brother Kenny. He is survived by: his wife Mary D. Askvig; his pet Lucy; his sister Lynn VanVickle (Ed) of Rochelle; his nephew Brian VanVickle (Marla); and his nieces, Amy Kilduff (Casey), Jaime Askvig-Sitzman (Sam) and Julia Askvig (Lauren).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Roger's memory to Hub City Cruisers or Serenity Hospice and Home.
