He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Mitchell and Pearl Mitchell (Abrahamson); his wife Elizabeth Griffith; his siblings, Irene Boxwell, Alice Duffy, Dale Mitchell (Angie), Alvin Mitchell (Rose), John Mitchell (Jean) and Paul Mitchell; and his nieces, Pam Wachal, Sharon Chihak and Deb Mitchell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Angie Mitchell of Rochelle and Carrie Mitchell of Belvidere; and his grandson Zach Middaugh of Rochelle. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
