He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert "Bud" Kerns and Goldie Kerns (Bell); his spouse Bernadean Lawson; and his sister Vivian Gail Kerns. He is survived by: his children, Teresa Kuehl of Rochelle, Sandra Hott (Raymond) of Sycamore and Michael Kerns (Amy) of Creston; his grandchildren, Erica Sachs (Jeremy), Robby Kuehl (Catherine), Justin Muraira (Cori Simms), Kendra Wurster (Tony), Kylee Muraira (Cole Davidson), Jacklynn Muraira, Travis Kerns (Haily), Abby and Ashley Kerns; his great grandchildren, Kendall, Halle Sachs, Jaxson Wurster, Tatum Muraira, Waylon and Kenzlee Kerns; and his sisters, Sharon Brown (David) of Creston and Jennie McLaughlin (Norman) of Rochelle. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Unger Horner Funeral Home (400 N 6th St, Rochelle, IL 61068). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
