He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh McDermitt and Grace Anna McDermitt (Williams); and his grandson Joseph Large. He is survived by: his wife Ann McDermitt of Rochelle; his sister Phyllis McDermitt of Ohio; his daughters, Dianna Roman (Juan) of Indiana, Brenda Hart (Darl Strable) and Donna Elliot (Reid) of Illinois; his grandchildren, Seth Large (Rachelle), Christopher Large (Brandi), Thaddeus Large (Destiny), Alissa Large (Hector Ledezma), Amy Large (Juan Ramirez), Jessica Cedeño (Alfredo), Jeremy Hart (Alyson Mason), Kyle Hart (Kelsy), Rachel Lynch (Mark), Westin Elliot, Hannah Elliot and Mattea Elliot; and his daughters, Alicia Colombres, Ana Maria Sosa Paèz and Delia Lopez. He is also survived by 22 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of Unger-Horner Funeral Home.
