He was predeceased by: his parents, George Schmidt and Louise Schmidt; his former wife Jean; his wife Judy; his sister Louise Andreas; and his grandson Bryan Campbell.
He is survived by: his children, Greg Schmidt, Gayle Campbell, Geri Schmidt, Glenn Schmidt and Gary Schmidt (Holly); his grandchildren, Brett Campbell, Brooke Schmidt, Joey Johanning, Greg, Matt Schmidt, Kevin, Shannon and Allison Schmidt; and his stepgrandchildren, Stevie and Ashley Carter. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
