With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald Walter of Rochelle, Illinois, born in West Brooklyn, Illinois, who passed away on August 29, 2023 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Florian Walter and Gladys Walter (McCrea); his wife Leola M. Berg; his daughter Jeanette Reeve; his granddaughter Krista Walter; and his siblings, Florian A. Walter, Charlene Gamble and Roberta Carlson.
He is survived by: his children, Donald K. Walter (D'Anne) of Orangeburg, SC, David A. Walter (Terry) of Rockford, IL, Daniel W. Walter (Christina) of Rochelle, IL and Katherine L. Barker of Rochelle, IL; his grandchildren, Ashley Dorman (Caleb) of Rockford, MI, James Reeve (Nick) of Portland, OR, Christopher Reeve (Anna) of Hudsonville, MI, Benjamin Walter (Melissa) of DeKalb, IL, Kristin Yorko (Alex) of Grand Junction, CO and Austin Walter (Micaela) of Hamilton, MT; his great grandchildren, Juliet, Charlie Dorman, Olivia, Eleanor Walter, Lilyana Walter and Walter Reeve; and his sister Delores Holm.
