He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Kennay and Elsie Kennay (Schrader); his former wife Rita May Vock; his son John Kennay; his granddaughter Lisa Kennay; his sisters, Mary Distin and Vivian Reed; and his stepchildren, Dennis and Diane Allen.
He is survived by: his children, Ron Kennay (Mardelle) of Oregon, Don Kennay (Beverly) of Ashton, Rick Kennay (Doris) of Ashton and Joan Pfeiffer (Mike) of Ashton; his daughter-in-law Cynthia Kennay of Ashton; his brother Jim Kennay (Judy) of Rockford; his grandchildren, Adam Kennay (Sarah), Jeremy Kennay (Sheri), Jessica Wolf (Adam), Amy Wombacher (Jason), Shary Hahn, Jason Kennay (Stephanie), Stephen Chapman (Amanda), Jake Chapman, Kaleb Kennay (Jubilee), Aubrey Quinn (Evan), Tyler Pfeiffer and Taryn Almburg (Adam); his wife Bertha Allen Kennay; his stepdaughter Carol Saffert (Timothy); his daughter-in-law Pam Allen; and his grandchildren, Matthew Saffert (Jason), Daniel Saffert (Emily), Michael Allen (Sara), Gary Allen (Angie) and Casey Yohnk (Mark). He is also survived by 21 great grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Serenity Hospice and Home.
