He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Abernathy and Virginia Abernathy (Cooper); and his siblings, Susan Martinez, Glenn Abernathy and James "Jim" Abernathy.
He is survived by: his wife Beatrice "Bea" Abernathy of Robinson, IL; his daughter Jennifer; his son-in-law Eric Mills of Princeton, IL; and his sister Diane Kay Thompson (OR). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In honor of the countless hours he gave to the organization, memorials may be made to the "Robinson Lion's Club", and memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
