He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen "Bud" and Lola "Doty" Patterson (Pennybaker). He is survived by: his brother Wendel; his siblings-in-law, Vickie Patterson, Francie, Lee Stoltz, Jeri, Neil Bantican, Crystal and Brian Smitley; and his close friend Dee Wampler. He is also survived by three nieces.
In honor of his trip to Washington D.C. with the organization, memorials may be made to "Honor Flight".
