He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest "Ernie" Fitts and Lucy Fitts (Liston); and his siblings, Nadine Henry and Larry Fitts. He is survived by: his daughter Tammy; his son-in-law Bill Tennyson; his sons, Kevin (Tina Fitts) and Aaron (Chastity Fitts); his grandchildren, Megan, Jonathon Woodard, Kristen, Stephen Allen, Tyler Tennyson, Savannah, Dominick Dunham and Connor Fitts; the mother of his children Patty Fitts; his close friend Emily Barnes; and his sister Carolyn Kay Whitlow. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In honor of his love of dogs, memorials may be made to the "Crawford County Humane Society", with envelopes available at the cemetery.
