In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Gary Joe leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Gary Joe may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Allen and Eva Mae Lawhead (Benson); and his brothers, Tony Lawhead and Jeff "Sparky" Lawhead. He is survived by: his children, Kim (Doug Marsh) of Loxley, AL and Jason Lawhead of Robinson, IL; his sisters, Pam (Dean Aten), Diane (Tim Smith) and Linda (Jack Boswell); and his sister-in-law Brenda Lawhead (VA). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Oak Grove Cemetery (600 S Leaverton St, Palestine, IL 62451).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society in memory of Gary's beloved dog, Rufus.
