He was predeceased by: his parents, James Merrick and Bessie Merrick (Williams); his siblings, Wilbur "Punk" Merrick, Herman H. Merrick, Clifford "Babe" Merrick and Frances "Pan" Reynolds; and his great grandchild Megan.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Martin; his children, Cathy McKinney, Steve, Ellen Merrick, Ron, Brenda Merrick and Beverly Merrick; and his grandchildren, Jeremy, Steven, David, Brad, Amber and Jesse. He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Memorial contributions may be made to "Shriners Hospitals for Children", with envelopes available at the funeral home.
