He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hangartner and Florence Beer Hangartner; his daughter Kay Nazarczuk; his son-in-law Chuck Fehr; and his sister Ida Mae Barth.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Suttor; his children, Annette LaFountain (Dennis) of Roanoke, IL, Jeanie Hangartner of Chicago, IL, John Hangartner (Judy) of Bradenton, FL, Karen Kieser (Paul) of Bloomington, IL and Paul Hangartner (Dee) of Kingwood, TX; his son-in-law Michael Nazarczuk of Sarasota, FL; his sister Mary Ellen Wiegand of Mackinaw, IL; his grandchildren, Christopher Nazarczuk (Ashley), Sadie Morris (Paul), Casey Nazarczuk (Casey), Taylor Zehr (Josh), Rebekah Nestel (Justin), Kaleb Fehr (Miah), Micah Fehr (Shelby), Zach Fehr, Jason Kieser, Melissa Langford (Zachary), Travis Kieser, Lindsey Kieser (Ethan Hodel) and Hazel Nhema (Musa); and his stepgrandson Alex LaFountain (Nicole).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church (1570 County Rd 1300 N, Roanoke, IL 61561).
Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke, Apostolic Christian Skylines, or Samaritan's Purse.
