It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phyllis Joann Adams Merritt of Riverton, Illinois, born in Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on June 15, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Oscar and Annabell Runkles Adams; her brother William Leroy Adams; and her nephew Kenneth Richard Adams. She is survived by: her husband Donald E. Merritt; her children, Cindy Keafer (Scott) of Riverton, Emma Lorraine Cress (Eric) of Riverton, Eugenia Lynne Koonce of Springfield, Kayko Joann Carrillo (Tony) of Los Angeles, CA and Roger Bearden (Ashley) of Dallas, TX; and her brother Richard Homer Adams of Springfield. She is also survived by six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riverton Christian Church Youth Fund.
