He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Mullikin and Florence Gerretse Mullikin; his brothers, Earl Mullikin and Allen Mullikin; his sister-in-law Peggy Mullikin; and his nephew Jeff Mullikin.

He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Mullikin of Kankakee; his children, David Mullikin of Kankakee, Julia Mullikin of Kankakee and Brian Mullikin (Dyan) of DeKalb; his grandson Colton Mullikin of DeKalb; his sister Marsha Barrie (George) of Cullom; and his nephew Joe Glogowski (Julie) of Kankakee.

Memorials may be made to the family or the Kankakee Area Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a volunteer organization that builds beds for kids who are sleeping on the floor.

“We have fond memories of time spent with marge and merle in the 1960's. The two guys were teachers in kankakee and we enjoyed playing pinochle and having a glass of meisterbrau together. Though we have not spent time together due to living far away, they have remained dear to us, and we will keep them and their family in our prayers. Ron and carolyn lutz”
