With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Simpson of River Grove, Illinois, who passed away on December 8, 2021 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Louis and Myra Louis (Doughan); her siblings, Michael Louis, Teresa Fogarty and Martha Lambert; her former spouse Russell P. Hansen; her husband David D. Simpson; her child Terry; and her great grandchild Alex.
She is survived by: her children, Lonnie Hansen (Kathy) of Columbia, MO, Rick Hansen (Paulette) of Columbia, MO, Kristy Cundiff (Ike) of Abingdon, IL, Kathy Nelson (Jeff) of New Braunfels, TX and Dana Wherley (Richard) of Eureka, IL; and her stepchildren, Donald Simpson of River Grove, IL and Mary Ellen Pollina (Kenneth) of Geneva, IL. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, and one more great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild.
Twice in 2020 she was quarantined for two weeks to her room to protect her and other residents from the Covid-19 corona virus.
