He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Carey and Dr. Clair Carey. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo (Carey); his children, James "Rocky" Carey (Anne), Maureen Donahue (Dan) and Bridget Krafton (Mike); his grandchildren, John Richard "Jack" Carey (Kelly Monahan), Claire Carey, Daniel Donahue, Margaret "Maggie" Donahue, Kevin Donahue, Mary Bridget (Donahue), Katherine "Katie" Krafton, Meaghan Krafton and Michael Krafton; his siblings, Dan Carey (JoAnne), Kathy Allitto (Tony) and Mary Claire Hachmeister (late Bob); his cousin Donna Pierce (Cliff); and his sisters, Patricia Carey and Sharon Ostrander (late Jay).
