He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Molly Lane (George) of Oak Park, IL and Charlie Smith (Shanel Jackson) of River Forest; his grandchildren, Peepop' of River Forest, Sean of River Forest, Jack of River Forest and Shannon Lane of River Forest; and his sister Christie Sergo (John) of Oak Park. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
