With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joy Louise Thompson of Ridott, Illinois, born in Freeport, Illinois, who passed away on September 30, 2022 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis "Shadow" Mordick and Virginia Mordick (Oswalt); her brother James Mordick; her daughter Holly Thompson; and her granddaughter Sadie Thompson.
She is survived by: her husband Larry Carl Thompson; her children, Nicholas Thompson and Sherrie Thompson (John O'Connor); her sisters-in-law, Jeanne Mordick, Mary Kay Bauman and Pat Erickson; and her grandchildren, Ashley (Nathan), Nathaniel (Dulce), Haley, Ginger, Colter, Bobbi Jo, Tyler and Trevor. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
