He is survived by: his children, Stephen Fairbairn of Carmel, IN, Malcolm Fairbairn of LaFayette, CA and Colleen Bowar (Steven) of Cross Plains, WI.; his wife Neenah Hughes of Woodbine; his granddaughters, Jacqueline Mentink (Jeffrey Lange) of Blue Mounds, WI and Alyssa Thronson (Jacob); his great grandchildren, Harper and Magnus of Dodgeville, WI; his grandchildren, Benjamin Mentink of Whitewater, WI, Nina Fairbairn, Grant Fairbairn of Layfayette, CA, Madelyn and Ian Fairbairn of Carmel, IN.; his brother Orval (Linda Yuhas) of Port Orange, FL; and his nephews, Larry (Kelly) of South Beloit, Jeffrey of Wauwatosa and Kevin Fairbairn (Theresa) of Oklahoma City, OK..
In lieu of flowers, memorial money will be given to Highland Community College Foundation for scholarships in any field and to the Outreach program – the fund that offers assistance to students in need "Hope Fund".
