He was predeceased by: his father Keith Flanagan; his wife Margaret Joan "Peg" Land; his sisters, Pat and Peggy; and his siblings-in-law, Junior Lyons and Marilyn Flanagan.

He is survived by: his children, Michael Flanagan (Diana) of Rantoul and Michelle Amaral (Michael) of Leesburg; his grandson Mason Amaral; and his siblings, Sue Lyons of Danville, Kevin Flanagan (Pam) of Kentucky and Dayne Flanagan of Kentucky. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
