He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd "Bud" and Dorothy Root (Hines); his brothers, Gary, Ronald and David Root; and his father-in-law Errol Davis.
He is survived by: his former wife Marie Walline; his wife Amy Root; his children, Brian Root (Cindy) of Naperville, IL, Kevin Root of Fountain Inn, SC and Ashley Reed (Derek); his grandchildren, Ezra, Ethan, Evan Root and Simmi Sue Reed; and his mother-in-law Pat Englund. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
